Description

Join us for a conversation on how Amgen tackled a massive challenge: governing over 1,200 business applications and 39 million configuration items across their ServiceNow environment.

After launching a "Back to the Box" re-implementation in 2019, Amgen built a mature Enterprise Architecture practice using the TOGAF framework and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). In this conversation, you'll hear about their Configuration Control Board, which democratizes decision-making around configuration management while keeping everything scalable and accurate. Amgen Enterprise architect Devan Jones will walk through the phased CSDM approach (Foundation, Crawl, Walk, Run, and Fly) and show what a real governance model looks like in action.

The real payoff comes from seeing how Amgen connects all the pieces together: application rationalization, business capability hierarchies, technology portfolio management, and the alignment between business strategy and actual investments. You'll come away understanding how to embed Enterprise Architecture into the decisions that matter, and how to build a sustainable governance practice that drives business outcomes instead of just creating process overhead.
