Clemens Peyerl currently serves as Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), one of the leading insurance groups in Central and Eastern Europe. In this role, he leads the group-wide cyber security strategy, strengthening resilience, protecting critical assets, and aligning security with business growth across a complex international landscape.

Over the past 15 years, Clemens has built and led security organizations in highly regulated, fast-evolving environments. Before joining VIG, he was CISO at bank99, where he helped design the security architecture of a modern, digitally focused bank from the ground up.

Earlier, at Addiko Bank, he served as Managing Director and Group CISO, shaping cross-border security strategy and embedding cyber security into core business processes. Prior to that, as Head of Global IT Security & IT Service Management at Semperit, he established global security and service frameworks in an international industrial setting.

Clemens is known for connecting technology, risk, and business strategy. He views cyber security not as a control function alone, but as a key enabler of trust, innovation, and sustainable digital business.
