Simon is an experienced business leader and strategic thinker with a career covering government, ICT, management consulting and media sectors and is considered one of Australia’s most influential technology voices.

Through both his own business as well as leading large industry associations, Simon has advised many of the world’s leading business consulting and technology companies to help shape public sector ICT strategies, procurements, regulation and policy.


As the former CEO of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), Simon represented the Australian tech sector to government, industry and media both in Australia and internationally creating a better regulatory, policy and procurement environment for the entire technology sector. He has been appointed to numerous state and federal government advisory committees covering Artificial Intelligence, digital health, procurement, skills and cyber security.

Prior to joining the AIIA, Simon was also the long-term CEO of the Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association (AHEDA) representing the Australian home entertainment film and TV industry with members including: Disney, Foxtel, Warner Bros, Sony, Universal, 20th Century Fox, Roadshow, Madman, Paramount and Fetch TV.

Simon has also worked as a senior ministerial adviser in the federal government and held a senior management role at Accenture before setting up his own successful advisory and consulting business.

Simon has an Honours degree in Political Science from the Australian National University and the University of California, San Diego. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
